Introduction
Assigning pickers to orders is a critical step in streamlining the order fulfillment process. In OTO PACK Basic, this feature allows managers to allocate one or more orders to specific pickers, ensuring efficient task management. This functionality is designed to optimize operations and improve accountability within your warehouse.

Navigate to the Shipments Page:
Go to the Shipments section on your OTO dashboard.
Under Pending Orders, select the orders that need to be assigned.
Access the Tools Menu:
Once you select the orders, click on "Tools" button as shown in the image above.
A dropdown menu will appear with multiple options.
Select "Assign Picker":
From the dropdown, choose the Assign Picker option.
This will open the Assign Picker Form.
Fill in the Assign Picker Form:
Order IDs: The selected order(s) will automatically appear in the form.
Assigned Picker: Use the search bar to select the picker you want to assign.
Note: This action supports assigning multiple orders to a single picker for better task bundling.
Confirm the Assignment:
Click the Save button to finalize the picker assignment.
The status of the selected orders will update to reflect the picker assignment, and the picker will see the tasks in their OTO PACK Mobile App.
Why Assigning Pickers Matters
Efficiency: Allows orders to be processed promptly and avoids delays.
Flexibility: Managers can assign multiple orders to one picker in one action, saving time.
Accountability: Tracks who is responsible for picking each order, making monitoring and performance tracking easier.
Best Practices for Assigning Pickers
Batch Orders Smartly: Assign similar or nearby orders to the same picker to reduce travel time within the warehouse.
Review Availability: Ensure pickers have the capacity to handle the assigned workload effectively.
Monitor Progress: Regularly check the status updates to track the progress of assigned orders.
What Happens Next?
After assigning the picker, the picker can start the Picking Operation using the OTO PACK Mobile App. Once the picking is complete, the order can move forward to the packing and shipping stages.
